The Executive Director (ED) is responsible for providing leadership and oversight in the implementation of AET’s strategic plan and ensuring the organization is making progress towards achieving its goals. He also working with the board of trustees and the management team to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans and policies. Jacksom Mwato has extensive experience working with local communities NGOs, fundraising, Environmental management, human resource management, and institutional development. He holds a BSC in Wildlife Management (Moi University) and MA in Environmental Planning and Management (University of Nairobi).
The Amboseli Ecosystem Trust brings together the communities and organizations of Amboseli to develop land use practices that improve the livelihoods and wellbeing of communities through the coexistence of people and wildlife. This is to keep the Amboseli Ecosystem rangelands open, diverse and healthy for the benefit of people and wildlife.
